Rainier secures planning permission at appeal for 48 dwellings in desirable Cotswold village

Following a public inquiry Rainier have successfully secured planning permission for 48 new homes in Alderton, associated infrastructure, landscape and biodiversity enhancements which will include the provision of 40% much needed affordable housing.

The site located on the southern edge of the village near the Cotswolds Hills is a short distance from Tewkesbury and once complete will allow local families to select from a range of one to four-bedroom homes.

Gavin Gallagher, Planning Director said:

“Congratulations to our landowners and everyone involved who worked incredibly hard to secure planning permission on this project in just 18 months. The outcome of the appeal demonstrates the robustness of the approach the team took to securing planning permission and will enable a high-quality designed scheme to assist with the lack of housing that is being delivered in the local area.”

A development partner is now in the process of being selected for the project with the scheme expected to commence later this year.
